Cargo. Not small-minded
The Vito sets new standards in van interior design. Its outstanding features include extreme robustness for professional usage and a generous layout. Without seating in the load compartment, the load capacity of the Mixto with standard roof height ranges from 4.65 m³ in the compact version to 5.68 m³ in the extra-long Vito.
Even with the seat row in the rear installed, the long and extra-long Mixto can accommodate up to two Euro palettes in the load compartment. The loading width between wheel arches is 1.28 m.
Thanks to the possibility of placing load beneath the seats, you can stow objects up to 19 cm in height under the front seats – which means an increase of loading length of 20 cm. And the low loading edge of 56 cm means you won't have to sweat when it comes to loading the vehicle.
Anchorage. Intelligent loading and securing
If there's one thing a van should provide, it's maximum security and flexibility during loading. The Vito is fully laden with great ideas and practice-tested system solutions.
Load-securing points in the load-compartment roof frame, side walls and floor ensure secure restraint and perfect anchorage for your load. To supplement this you can order an optional rail system which allows you to position and secure your transport load with even greater flexibility.
Doors Built for stiff challenges
Through the appropriate choice of different door variants and combinations you can adapt the Vito exactly to your needs.
A wide lateral sliding door, which can be optionally complemented by a second sliding door on the left, makes it possible to load from the sides with Euro palettes or cardboard boxes. The standard roof height Vito has a standard tailgate which opens to an angle of about 90º.
For work with fork lifts, the optional hinged rear doors with opening angles of around 180º or 270º (doors swinging round until the sidewall) are most appropriate.
And of course when devising the door concept, a lot of thought was given to passengers and driver: thanks to the low entry and the Easy Entry function for the seat next to the sliding door, climbing expeditions just to get into the car are a thing of the past
Versatile seating concept
The Vito's variable seating concept caters for all driver types. Driver and front-passenger seats are flexibly adjustable. Comfort seats – for instance with seat heating – are naturally available as an option.
For the co-driver's seat there is the choice between a single seat or a bench seat for two people, which is also available as standard equipment.
And thanks to the speed and ease with which the

Whether you opt for this top-of-range engine with 150 kW/204 hp or one of the CDI versions with 70 kW/95 hp, 85 kW/116 hp (or 80 kW/109 hp for the 111 CDI 4x4) or 110 kW/150 hp, you can always rely on the highest level of engine performance.

4x4 all-wheel drive. Taking van safety to a new level
Whether it is simply moving off, or accelerating, in curves, whether on ice, snow or fallen leaves, on bad road surfaces, in the rain, or towing a trailer: with the 4x4 permanent all-wheel drive system [1] your Vito is even more stable in demanding handling situations.
The all-wheel drive system transfers drive power simultaneously to all four wheels and distributes it in a 35:65 ratio to front and rear axle, respectively. In doing so, it does not make use of inter-axle nor transverse differential locks, using instead the 4ETS Electronic Traction System. This system intervenes if one or more wheels begin to slip on a low-grip surface. 4ETS automatically brakes the wheels that are beginning to spin. At the same time it increases the drive moment on the wheels that still have sufficient grip. The result is perfect traction.
The permanent all-wheel drive system offers additional effectiveness because 4ETS is integrated in the latest-generation standard-fit ESP® and has been adapted especially to the all-wheel drive system.
Gentle starts on steep slopes
As optional extra for vehicles with manual transmission, the Start-off Assist (AAS) ensures that starting off is a comfortable experience. The Start-off Assist is available as standard equipment for the 4x4 all-wheel drive.
It is a particularly useful driver aid on uphill or downhill slopes. Once the brake pedal has been released, Start-off Assist maintains the brake pressure for approximately two seconds, thus allowing the driver to switch from the brake to the accelerator pedal without having to worry about the vehicle starting to roll. The brake pressure is released instantly as soon as Start-off Assist detects that the driver wishes to move off. This practical aid makes light work of pulling away on steep slopes in the Vito.

Flexible oil-change intervals according to use
The Vito comes as standard with the multifunction ASSYST servicing system, which calculates flexible oil-change intervals based on use. ASSYST measures the dynamic oil level during operation and uses this to calculate the necessary top-up amount as well as the next maintenance date. The Vito only needs to go to the workshop approx. every 30,000 km or every two years.
Longer intervals are also possible, depending on the intensity of vehicle usage and driving style [1].
Reduced maintenance and workshop time
Compared with the competition, maintenance requirements and workshop time have been substantially reduced – for example, the use of long-life light bulbs with a 100,000 km change interval.

The optional power sliding doors (for the compact and long Vito Traveliner) raise the comfort stakes still further. At the same time rear-wheel drive ensures excellent climbing ability and well-balanced 50:50 weight distribution across both axles. And the turning circle of 11.80 m (short wheelbase) and 12.50 m (long wheelbase) makes tight manoeuvring a breeze.
4x4 all-wheel drive. Taking van safety to a new level
Whether it is simply moving off, or accelerating, in curves, whether on ice, snow or fallen leaves, on bad road surfaces, in the rain, or towing a trailer: with the 4x4 permanent all-wheel drive system [1] your Vito is even more stable in demanding handling situations.
The all-wheel drive system transfers drive power simultaneously to all four wheels and distributes it in a 35:65 ratio to front and rear axle, respectively. In doing so, it does not make use of inter-axle nor transverse differential locks, using instead the 4ETS Electronic Traction System. This system intervenes if one or more wheels begin to slip on a low-grip surface. 4ETS automatically brakes the wheels that are beginning to spin. At the same time it increases the drive moment on the wheels that still have sufficient grip. The result is perfect traction.
The permanent all-wheel drive system offers additional effectiveness because 4ETS is integrated in the latest-generation standard-fit ESP® and has been adapted especially to the all-wheel drive system.
Gentle starts on steep slopes
As optional extra for vehicles with manual transmission, the Start-off Assist (AAS) ensures that starting off is a comfortable experience. The Start-off Assist is available as standard equipment for the 4x4 all-wheel drive.
It is a particularly useful driver aid on uphill or downhill slopes. Once the brake pedal has been released, Start-off Assist maintains the brake pressure for approximately two seconds, thus allowing the driver to switch from the brake to the accelerator pedal without having to worry about the vehicle starting to roll. The brake pressure is released instantly as soon as Start-off Assist detects that the driver wishes to move off. This practical aid makes light work of pulling away on steep slopes in the Vito.
